BANGOR - As Saturday's Class C North title game between No. 1 Houlton and No. 2 Dexter wore on it became apparent that the Tigers were going to be in it until the end.

But, Kollen Bouchard and the Shires were just too much for the Tigers in the Shires 33-30 win.

Bouchard ad Dexter freshman Peyton Grant squared off in an epic duel as both combined for 49 of the games 63 points.

Grant had 22 for the Tigers and Bouchard had 27 for the Shires.

Bouchard also tallied her 2,000th point in the win.

"It means a lot but it means more that we won the championship. I mean it was the main goal. It's definitely the championship we were focused on. I mean it's been the goal every year. We made the state game, gotta get revenge for our loss last year and come out strong," Bouchard said.

Houlton advances to play Monmouth in the state title game.
