LEEDS — The Maine Warden Service is investigating a hunting-related shooting in Leeds.
Wardens said a turkey hunter shot and injured a woman in a wooded area near the end of Walton’s Way at about 3 p.m. Monday.
The hunter called 911 and tried to help the victim until emergency personnel arrived on the scene.
She was taken to Central Maine Medical Center and is in stable condition.
The Maine Warden Service is being assisted in the investigation by the Maine State Police and the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s office.
