WPHW partners with Maine Women’s Fund
BANGOR — An organization in Maine is teaming up with Wabanaki Public Health and Wellness to make a difference.
The Maine Women’s Fund and Wabanaki Public Health and Wellness are working together on a nationwide initiative to help indigenous women in the community.
According to Wabanaki Public Health and Wellnes Program Director Lisa Sockabasin, the first step in the initiative is to listen to the needs of indigenous people in the community through storytelling.
“The national grant we were able to secure is focused on indigenous women and the voices of indigenous women,” said Sockabasin.
