EMBDEN — According to Maine State Police spokesperson investigators are returning to the home to continue to search for the cause of a home explosion at a residence in Embden.
The explosion happened at around 2:50 pm on Friday, October 15. The home owner at 199 Bert Berry Road in Empden, an adult female called officers to report an explosion at her home. She then drove to Solon Fire Department to get help. According to State Police the owner sustained injuries and burns as a result of the fire and explosion.
The homeowner was initially transported to Redington Fairview Hospital according to sources but was later transported by LifeFlight to Maine Medical Center in Portland. The home is a complete loss.
Maine State Police say several fire departments were involved in the call. Anson, Athens, Bingham, Canaan, Cornville, Hartland, Madison, New Portland, Norridgewock, Skowhegan, Solon, Starks, Kingfield, Farmington and Strong Fire Departments responded.
The Fire Departments were assisted by the Anson and Madison as well as Reddington Ambulance Services says the spokesperson.
Somerset County Sheriff’s Department was on scene.
