WASHINGTON, D.C. — Bus and passenger vehicle companies are now eligible to apply for $2 billion in COVID-19 relief funds.
U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, the ranking member of the transportation subcommittee announced Monday the application portal for the Coronavirus Economic Relief for Transportation Services grant program she co-authored is now open.
At a hearing last week, Collins urged the transportation secretary to expedite distribution of the funds.
“Bus and motor coach companies, ferries and tour boats sustain good paying jobs and provide critical transportation services,” Collins said.
“The COVID-19 pandemic took an enormous toll on these businesses last year, many of which are small and family owned,” she said. “I encourage these companies to apply now and access this program.”
