CARRABASSET VALLEY (WGME) — It’s not quite close to winter but Sugarloaf is announcing major plans to expand over the next 10 years.
Its vision is called Sugarloaf 2030.
It will include the development of more than 450 acres on West Mountain with a new high-speed lift and new trails.
“We’ll also be developing 140 acres of new ski and snowboard terrain. It’ll be beginner and intermediate terrain and installing a new lift. It’ll be high-speed, high-capacity that runs to open up that whole area,” said Ethan Austin, the resort’s director of marketing.
The plan also includes 75 new residential real estate lots, which the Sugarloaf said is badly needed.
