AUGUSTA — The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday that 20 more cases of COVID-19 have been reported around the state and there were no new deaths connected to the illness.
According to state health officials, the new coronavirus cases bring the statewide total since March of last year to 68,864. The statewide death toll remains at 854.
The latest Maine CDC COVID-19 statistics show 2,063 people have required hospitalization to treat the virus.
As of Monday, 30 people were hospitalized due to COVID-19. Of those, 17 were being cared for in intensive care while six people were on ventilators.
Also as of Monday, 1,507,131 Mainers had been vaccinated, with 738,937 having received their first dose and 768,194 having had their final dose.
