NEW SHARON — Maine State Police are calling the deaths of two people in New Sharon a domestic violence murder-suicide.
According to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Katy England, troopers were called to a home on Havey Road Monday morning to do a well-being check. When they arrived they found the bodies of a man and a woman inside.
England said the victim was 42-year-old Jessica Dapolito of New Sharon, who was shot to death.
Police identified the shooter as 55-year-old Robert Dapolito also of New Sharon, who then turned the weapon on himself.
The medical examiner’s office was scheduled to perform autopsies on Tuesday, England said.
