ST. ALBANS– Dozens of residents participated in the annual citizens meeting at the town hall.
The citizens voted to approve 42 of 43 acts in the annual town warrant.
The only act that was denied was Act 10, which would have allowed the town’s code enforcement officer to create a system that determined what buildings and structures are too dangerous to remain standing.
“Why in this case, is safety such a concern on private land? Are you proposing this ordinance to protect would be trespassers from harm, or protecting land owner from themselves or is this really about appearances. And if indeed this is about aesthetics, the proposed ordinance should state as much,” said Mandy Maddocks, a St. Albans resident.
