HANCOCK COUNTY – Authorities say one person was killed in a serious crash that shut down a portion of Route 1 in Township 7, which is between Gouldsboro and Steuben.
A spokeswoman for the Maine State Police, Katy England, said a 51-year-old female from Gouldsboro was pronounced dead at the scene.
England said a 37-year-old male from Columbia was transported to Northern Light Maine Coast with non-life threatening injuries.
No names have been released.
“We had Gouldsboro, Winter Harbor, Steuben, Sullivan and Schoodic EMS. It’s still under investigation with State Police,” McLean said.
According to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the accident near the Hancock-Washington County line was reported at 6:37 p.m.
Rte. 1 reopened shortly before 10 p.m.
