WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Senate has approved of a $1 trillion infrastructure bill.
Sen. Susan Collins is one of 10 members on the transportation appropriations subcommittee who pushed for the infrastructure package.
The package includes improvements to roads, bridges, and broadband connection.
Collins said there are several parts of the state that do not have access to high speed internet.
“That has created problems that we saw during the pandemic in terms of accessing education, being able to work from home, and also being able to take advantage of telemedicine,” she said.
The bill is expected to be reviewed by the House of Representatives in the next few weeks.
