BUCKSPORT – The Bucksport Police Department confirmed Friday morning that a shooting took place outside a home on Dalton Lane Thursday night.
Bucksport Public Safety Director Sean Geagan and another police officer responded to the house where the shooting happened.
According to a press release from the department, a verbal confrontation took place at the end of the driveway and resulted in two separate firearms being fired.
One adult male did sustain a gunshot wound and was later transported to a Bangor hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Brewer Police Department and the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office assisted in helping Bucksport P.D. handle the situation.
No names have been released at this time and the department is continuing its investigation into the incident.
Geagan says the evidence will be reviewed by the Hancock County District Attorney’s Office to determine whether anyone will be charged with a crime.
