CASTLE HILL – The deaths of two men in the Aroostook County town of Castle Hill are being investigated as a double homicide, according to State Police spokesman Steve McCausland.
McCausland says just after midnight Tuesday, Roger Ellis, 51, and Allen Curtis, 25, were found dead inside a pickup truck at 2052 State Road, also known as Route 227.
McCausland says the troopers were dispatched there for a noise complaint and originally thought they were responding to a collision between an ATV and the pickup.
Investigators determined that was not the case when they found the bodies of the two Castle Hill residents.
The truck is owned by Ellis, but police say they’re not sure who owns the unregistered 2006 Suzuki LTZ 400, which was originally yellow but covered with black paint.
McCausland says the bodies have been taken to Augusta where the state medical examiner will conduct autopsies on Wednesday.
Anyone who may have heard a loud ATV late Monday night in Castle Hill should call State Police in Houlton at (207) 532-5400.
