EAST MILLINOCKET -In the midst of efforts to revitalize the Katahdin region, an East Millinocket doggy daycare will soon be celebrating five years in business.
Katahdin Kritters Pet Resort on Dirigo Drive will be five years old in March.
The owner, Kelly Seile, said they’ve grown a lot, and in the summer tourist season house up to 35 animals.
She said she’s seen local businesses come a long way since the area mills closed.
“We could have actually started anywhere, but we love this area so much,” said Seile. “When we first started out I was really holding my breath as to if this was going to work or not … they seem to need this kind of thing in the area.”
She said they also do a lot for the community, and just had a benefit raffle drawing at a local nursing home, bringing some furry friends along, of course.
