ORONO – An organization that tries to expose kids to other cultures hosted an event at the University of Maine Sunday.
CISV, or the Children’s International Summer Village, works to get kids to see the world and make it less scary to travel – that includes summer camp trips to places all over the world.
We spoke with one young man from Hampden who has traveled to Germany and Mexico with CISV.
Beckett O’Reilly said it, “makes the world less of a big place and opens possibilities to see the world and understand other people.”
Sunday’s event was to give kids a taste of what kind of activities take place at their summer camps.
It coincided with the local chapter’s annual chapter meeting, that was held in the same room.
