BANGOR — An Old Town woman is being charged with manslaughter in the death of her 3-year-old daughter.
Hillary Goding was arrested in Lincoln on Sunday.
Goding made her initial appearance in court Monday afternoon.
Assistant Attorney General Lisa Bogue said there was another incident when the child was exposed to drugs and required medical care.
“She certainly has a prior episode involving conduct of this nature and now the allegation in the amount of time it took her, the defendant, to reach out and get medical care for the child, a significant period of time that obviously contributed in the state’s perspective to her death,” Bogue said.
A state police spokesperson said Monday that on Friday, Old Town fire and rescue responded to 149 Center St. shortly before 11 p.m.
According to the spokesperson, Goding called 911 to report her daughter was unresponsive and not breathing.
The 3-year-old was taken to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center.
The spokesperson said the child was pronounced dead on Sunday.
Neighbors said they saw a trailer wrapped in crime scene tape on Saturday.
Information on the autopsy is not being released.
Goding’s bail was set at $50,000 cash.
