BANGOR — The annual Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race will be happening this year with some adjustments.
During a city council workshop on Monday, city officials stated there will be no race day activities like the usual race breakfast or hot chocolate, or warming areas due to COVID-19 protocols.
There will also be no race day registration which means all race racers will have to preregister before the April 17 race date.
But one thing that isn’t going away is the awards ceremony.
“We feel it’d be a great opportunity to have them just spread out and still have awards since we’re not doing the other normal stuff like the warming tent and the chili and the chatter and stuff like that,” said Bangor Parks and Recreation Department Assistant Director Debbie Gendreau.
