STATEWIDE — Some local medical marijuana vendors are afraid rule changes will make cannabis more expensive.
Paul McCarrier, who operates 1 Mill in Belfast, says rule changes could put some vendors out of business.
“Plain and simple, those costs are going to have to be passed onto the patients for those businesses that do survive,” he said.
“And we’re in the middle of an economic crisis right now. Look at the price of gas. People can’t afford to pay more for their medicine,” he said.
McCarrier said he’s afraid these rule changes will encourage consumers to acquire their marijuana “the old fashioned way.”
