STATEWIDE — More than 50 percent of eligible Mainers have been vaccinated against COVID-19, the office of Gov. Janet Mills announced Friday.
According to a statement from Mills’ office, the governor said nearly 60 percent of eligible Mainers have received at least their first dose of the vaccine.
According to Mills, Bloomberg News reported Maine leads the country in the percentage of its population being fully vaccinated.
Maine Department of Health and Human Services Commissioner Jeanne Lambrew said more than 1.2 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the state.
