AUGUSTA – The number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Maine is on the rise.
Most of the COVID-19 case data from the Maine CDC has not been updated due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
However, according to the CDC, 119 people are currently hospitalized with coronavirus. Of those, 51 are in critical care units and 15 are on ventilators.
A CDC spokesperson said data from Wednesday showed 105 people were in the hospital with COVID-19. Friday’s data shows an increase of 14 hospitalizations compared to Wednesday’s data.
The spokesperson told us case numbers are expected to be updated Saturday morning, and will reflect “case investigations and tests processed on Friday as of 11:59 p.m.”
The next CDC briefing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30.
