STATEWIDE — Gov. Janet Mills announced Friday afternoon an expansion of COVID-19 vaccination eligibility.
The governor said beginning Wednesday, March 3, anyone 60 or older may get the COVID-19 vaccinations.
“If the supply increases in the coming weeks and months and we’re able to make efficient progress through these next phases, it’s possible we can accelerate these time frames,” Mills said.
The larger volume of vaccines expected to be delivered to the state next week was a factor in expanding the age eligibility for the vaccinations.
The plan Mills unveiled Friday calls for the eligibility age to lower on the first of every month from now through July.
