SOUTH PARIS — More than $200,000 and 129 guns were seized in a drug bust in western Maine this week.
According to a statement from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, 60-year-old Richard Fitts of South Paris was arrested Wednesday and charged with drug trafficking.
An MDEA spokesman said houses owned by Fitts in South Paris and Poland were searched and $219,000 in suspected drug proceeds was confiscated.
The spokesman said 129 handguns and rifles also were taken from the houses.
Agents also took 119 grams of cocaine during the search of the South Paris house. He said the cocaine had a street value of $11,000.
Fitts was taken to Oxford County Jail.
