FRYEBURG — Police say 20-year-old Afshin Zarechian of Manchester, New Hampshire was taken into custody Tuesday after the BMW he was driving was found in Fryeburg.
Zarechian initially was sought by police after they said he made a threat toward the University of Maine at Orono.
The incident was later downgraded to a missing person report.
The BMW found in Fryeburg on Tuesday had a different license plate than the one police identified earlier.
Police have not stated whether Zarechian will face any charges.
The vehicle was found near Harvest Hills Animal Shelter, which says everyone there is safe.
