PISCATAQUIS COUNTY – A Maine man is back behind bars after authorities say he allegedly beat a cat to death with a frying pan on Thanksgiving.
Piscataquis County Assistant District Attorney Chris Almy said Ryan Carlton was released on unsecured bond for the third time on Wednesday.
Almy said in a statement Carlton went to his father’s house in Sangerville on Thursday, where he reportedly killed the animal.
According to Almy, Carlton’s parents said he shouldn’t have been released due to “violent and drunk behavior.”
Carlton is now being held at the Piscataquis County Jail.
Almy says Carlton will be back in court Monday on charges of cruelty to animals and another violation of bail.
