AUGUSTA — Nearly 97 percent of Maine emergency medical service workers are vaccinated against COVID-19.
That’s according to a statewide survey from the Maine Department of Public Safety.
The Mills administration announced the requirement that Maine employees in designated healthcare settings, including EMS, be vaccinated against the virus in August.
The Maine EMS board of directors then voted to adopt the requirement, exempting dispatchers.
They also provided additional time for other employees to receive their vaccinations.
