WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Angus King announced Wednesday that the Maine Department of Health and Human Services will receive nearly $1 million in American Rescue Plan funds.
The money will be used to support mental health and substance abuse treatment.
This, as the state suffers a spike in overdose deaths related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The funding will support the development of a new Medicaid program providing community-based, mobile crisis interventions for Medicaid beneficiaries.
The grant totals roughly $929, 500.
