STATEWIDE — The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention said Saturday that 70 more cases of COVID-19 have been reported around the state and 6 new deaths bringing the statewide death toll to 897.
The new cases pushed the total number of coronavirus cases since March of last year to 69,904, according to an update posted on the Maine CDC’s website.
To date, 2,125 Mainers have been hospitalized due to COVID-19.
As of Saturday, 31 people were hospitalized, 18 of them in critical care and nine on ventilators.
Also as of Friday, 1,556,238 COVID-19 vaccines had been administered.
