AUGUSTA — The Maine Center for Disease Control said Tuesday that 182 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported across the state, but that no additional deaths from coronavirus complications had occurred, leaving the state’s death toll to date at 703.
The additional cases bring the total since mid-March of last year to at least 44,944, according to state health officials.
The latest Maine CDC COVID-19 statistics also indicate 12,811 people have completed isolations after having contracted the virus, while a total of 1,536 people have required hospitalization to treat the virus.
As of Monday, the most recent day for which data was available, 62 people were hospitalized for COVID-19, 20 of them being treated in intensive care units, while eight people were on ventilators.
As of Tuesday, 355,810 COVID-19 vaccines had been administered. Of those, 231,353 were first doses, and 124,457 were final doses, the Maine CDC said.
