BANGOR — Members of the Maine People’s Alliance met in front of Rep. Jared Golden’s office urging him to support the full $3.5 trillion Build Back Better deal now before Congress.
Golden is one of nine U.S. House of Representatives Democrats who support cuts to this investment to provide funding for jobs, a care economy, and green infrastructure.
“We are here today outside of Representative Golden’s office in Bangor to send the message that we support the reconciliation process down in Washington,” said Sonja Birthaisel.
“We are here to urge Congressman Golden to invest in physical infrastructure and human infrastructure, that will make a difference on so many different issues including climate change,” she said.
Over the next few weeks, the House and the Senate will finalize the budget.
