CASTINE — A leader at Maine Maritime Academy has announced his decision to step down.
According to the school, William Brennan, the school’s 14th president, will retire after the upcoming school year.
Brennan has worked 12 years at the institution after taking office in May 2010. The college expects to announce Brennan’s successor in January 2022.
Its board of trustees is currently working to create a search committee made up of board members, faculty, students and Castine residents.
The school will also enlist the help of a consulting group to find its next president.
