BANGOR — President Donald Trump has been impeached by the U.S. House of Representatives for a second time.
Lawmakers voted 232 to197 in favor of the impeachment. This comes a week after Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol.
Maine Democratic Party Chair Kathleen Marra said she believes this impeachment is needed.
She said this isn’t just a reflection of the president but the entire Republican party.
“All along we have known that this man was not morally, psychologically, intellectually up to the job. I think having already been through one impeachment for trying to rig the election by using a foreign entity and having been given a pass on that by Republicans is shocking and reprehensible and it’s led to this,” Marra said.
ABC 7 and Fox 22 reached out to the Maine Republican Party but failed to reach anyone who could comment.
