AUGUSTA — The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday that 120 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported around the state, pushing the total number of coronavirus cases since March of last year to 70,261.
State health officials said, however, that the statewide death toll held steady at 899, according to an update posted on the Maine CDC’s website.
To date, 2,139 Mainers have been hospitalized due to COVID-19.
As of Wednesday, 41 people were hospitalized, 16 of them in critical care and nine on ventilators.
Also as of Wednesday, 1,573,246 COVID-19 vaccines had been administered. Of those, 764,191 were first doses and 809,055 were final doses.
