AUGUSTA — The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday that 69 more cases of COVID-19 have been reported around the state.
The new coronavirus cases bring the statewide total since March of last year to 68,331, according to state health officials.
One more death was reported, bringing the statewide death toll to 840. State health officials said the person who died was a man in his 50s from Kennebec County.
The latest CDC COVID-19 statistics show 2,040 people have required hospitalization to treat the virus.
As of Monday, 58 people were hospitalized due to COVID-19. Of those, 26 were being cared for in intensive care while 14 people were on ventilators.
Also as of Monday, 1,449,644 Mainers had been vaccinated, with 725,689 having received their first dose and 723,955 having had their final dose.
