AUGUSTA — The Maine Center for Disease Control said Sunday that 346 new cases of COVID-19 cases have been reported across the state and that one more Mainer has died after contracting the illness, bringing the statewide death toll to 765.
The Maine CDC said the new cases bring the total since March of last year to at least 57,285.
According to the CDC, the additional death reported on Sunday was a woman over 80 from Kennebec County.
The latest Maine CDC COVID-19 statistics also indicate a total of 1,770 Mainers have required hospitalization to treat the virus.
As of Sunday, 104 people were hospitalized for COVID-19. 33 of them were being treated in intensive care units, while 14 people were on ventilators.
Also as of Sunday, 991,808 COVID-19 vaccines had been administered around the state. Of those, 564,281 were first doses, and 427,527 were final doses, the Maine CDC said.
