AUGUSTA —The Maine Center for Disease Control said Tuesday that another 290 COVID-19 cases have been reported across the state, but there were no new deaths connected with the illness, leaving the statewide death toll since March of last year at 746.
The Maine CDC said the new cases bring the total since March of last year to at least 52,276.
The latest Maine CDC COVID-19 statistics also indicate a total of 1,705 Mainers have required hospitalization to treat the virus.
As of Tuesday, 80 people were hospitalized for COVID-19. Thirty-two of them were being treated in intensive care units, while eight people were on ventilators.
As of Monday, 780,591 COVID-19 vaccines had been administered around the state. Of those, 463,662 were first doses, and 316,929 were final doses, the Maine CDC said.
