AUGUSTA — The Maine Center for Disease Control said Sunday that 231 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported across the state.
The new cases bring the total since March of last year to at least 61,847.
No new deaths were reported, so the statewide death toll remains at 789.
The latest Maine CDC COVID-19 statistics also indicate a total of 1,860 Mainers have required hospitalization to treat the virus.
As of Sunday, 124 people were hospitalized for COVID-19. 42 of them were being treated in intensive care units, while 18 people were on ventilators.
As of Saturday, 1,164,905 COVID-19 vaccines had been administered around the state. Of those, 638,066 were first doses, and 526,839 were final doses, the Maine CDC said.
