AUGUSTA — The Maine Center for Disease Control said Saturday that 175 new cases of COVID-19 have been detected across the state and that two more Mainers have died after contracting the illness, bringing the statewide death toll to 801.
The new cases bring the total since March of last year to at least 65,523.
The latest Maine CDC COVID-19 statistics indicate a total of 1,930 Mainers have required hospitalization to treat the virus since March of last year.
As of today, 121 people are being hospitalized, 45 are in critical care, and 20 are on ventilators.
As of Friday, 1,298,540 COVID-19 vaccines had been administered around the state. Of those, 664,678 were first doses, and 621,086 were final doses, the Maine CDC said.
