AUGUSTA — The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Monday that the number of cases of COVID-19 in the state has increased by 12, bringing the total so far to 5,300.
Meanwhile, the number of deaths connected to the virus continued to hold at 140, according to the Maine CDC.
Of the total cases counted in Maine so far, 545 were considered probable and 561 were considered active, Maine CDC posted on its website.
The latest CDC COVID-19 statistics show 4,599 people have recovered from the virus since it hit Maine in mid-March, while a total of 446 people have required hospitalization to treat the virus.
So far, nearly 431,000 coronavirus tests have been conducted around the state, according to the Maine CDC.
