AUGUSTA — The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday that 65 more cases of COVID-19 have been reported around the state.
The new coronavirus cases bring the statewide total since March of last year to 68,449, according to state health officials.
No new deaths were reported Thursday, leaving the statewide death toll at 843.
The latest Maine CDC COVID-19 statistics show 2,044 people have required hospitalization to treat the virus.
As of Thursday, 49 people were hospitalized due to COVID-19. Of those, 27 were being cared for in intensive care while 14 people were on ventilators.
As of Wednesday, 1,463,939 Mainers had been vaccinated, with 729,323 having received their first dose and 734,616 having had their final dose.
