NORRIDGEWOCK — A man from Madison has died following a two-vehicle crash that happened in Norridgewock Friday morning.
At approximately 5:42 a.m., the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office said it responded to a the crash that happened on Route 2 near Oosoola Park.
Investigators determined that 46-year-old Christopher Allen of Madison was driving east on Route 2, along with his passenger, 44-year-old Shannon Rollins-Allen of Madison. A utility truck, driven by 42-year-old Curtis Stephens of Jeffersonville, Kentucky, was traveling west and crossed the center line. The vehicles collided.
Allen was pronounced dead at the scene. Passenger Shannon Rollin-Allen was taken to Redington Fairview Hospital by ambulance and was later taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Stephens sustained minor injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
The Norridgewock Fire Department, Skowhegan Police Department and the Maine State Police Commercial Vehicle Unit assisted on the call.
