MACHIAS – A fourth person injured during Monday’s shooting spree in Washington County that left three dead, remains in the hospital.
Regina Hall Long, 49, of Machias was shot three times in the head, her friend Phebe Mcgraw, who is from Jonesboro but lives in Bangor, said Friday.
On Monday, Hall Long was flown by LifeFlight helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland where she was listed in critical condition.
On Friday, Hall Long’s condition improved to serious, a spokesman for the hospital said.
Police detectives charged Thomas Bonfanti, 63, of Northfield with three counts of murder and one charge of elevated aggravated assault. He’s being held without bail at the Washington County Jail.
Maine State Police Detectives said Bonfanti shot and killed Machias residents Jennifer Bryant-Flynn, 49, and Shawn Currey, 57, who was dating Hall Long, as well as Samual Powers, 33, of Jonesboro.
