LINCOLN – The town of Lincoln is breaking out the Christmas lights and preparing for its annual holiday events.
This year on December 7, town event coordinator Kelly Ryder says town officials are putting on a day of all things Christmas. This year’s theme is ‘Whoville.’
It starts out in the morning with the town’s 20th annual breakfast with Santa.
Ryder says it’s a popular event and sold out within a week.
The festival of lights parade will makes its way through Lincoln ending at the tree in the center of town.
Afterwards, they’ll have their annual lighting of the tree ceremony.
“It’s just what we do in Lincoln. We go hard for Christmas,” said Ryder. “We love it. It lifts everybody’s spirits. As you know, Maine winters take a really long time, so it’s a great way to kick off the season and get everybody together.”
Ryder says if you want to participate in the parade, you can fill out a form at the town office or on their website.
There will also be a winter window contest for business owners.
Whoever has the best window display, sticking with the Whoville theme, will take home the prize.
