BANGOR — A 39-year-old Lincoln man admitted Friday that he raped a 12-year-old girl.
The guilty plea from Paul Fiske was part of a plea agreement with the Penobscot County District Attorney’s Office.
The plea agreement would send Fiske to prison for 20 years.
But after hearing from Fiske, the victim, and Fiske’s mother, Superior Court Judge William Anderson announced he would need several days to decide whether he would accept the agreement.
Assistant District Attorney Devon DeMarco said sex offender cases are about power and control.
“And one of the last remaining ways an offender such as Mr. Fiske can retain power and control is to exercise his right to a trial, which would require her to testify,” she said.
DeMarco said Fiske was related to the victim.
Fiske told the judge he was sorry for everything he has done.
