BANGOR — A fire investigator said Thursday’s early morning fatal fire claimed the life of a 14-year-old boy.
During a news conference on Friday, Assistant State Fire Marshal Troy Gardner said Theodore Hedstrom was killed in the fire on Mount Battie Street.
Gardner said the teen lived at the home with two adults.
He said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
“We believe that this was an accidental fire. We just can’t say at this point what caused it,” Gardner said.
According to Gardner, two other people were taken to the hospital for treatment of burns suffered in the fire.
Although Gardner said they have yet to determine a cause, some electrical wiring was being inspected as a potential area where the fire started.
