BANGOR — As part of Giving Day 2021 on Wednesday, Husson University hosted its own version of a popular TV game show.
In Husson’s version of “Cash Cab”, people donated to an area on the campus of their choice and then were taken in a golf cart to their destination while being asked trivia questions.
With correct answers, riders won Husson swag or matching funds were added to their donation for the area of giving they chose.
If the riders got three questions wrong, they were kicked out of the cart wherever they were.
Christine Mihan, stewardship and communications coordinator at Husson, said it was a lighthearted way to teach the positivity of giving.
“And through that, we’ve been able to educate students on philanthropy and understanding that there are many areas around campus that they can donate to and a lot of students didn’t necessarily know that,” she said.
Mihan said it wasn’t about how much was given but the number of people that took part.
She said from the number of students and faculty who rode the “cab” to those who helped, Husson’s third annual giving day was a huge success.
