BANGOR — A man believed to have led a Maine State Police trooper on a high-speed chase nearly a week-and-a-half ago was arrested in Bangor Wednesday.
State police arrested 45-year-old Edward Janak of Bangor at a residence on Hammond Street.
State police Lt. Michael Johnston said Janak was taken into custody on six outstanding arrest warrants.
The charges included probation revocation, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, operating under habitual offender revocation and other charges.
“Most of the warrants he is wanted for are felony warrants, and one of them is for probation revocation and the underlying crime that he is convicted of, that he was out on probation for, was a felony-level crime and it’s my understanding that he has two to three years at least hanging over his head as a result of that sentence,” Johnston said.
Johnston said Janak was arrested without incident.
