BANGOR — If you are looking for some terror this Halloween…the Bangor Mall may be the place for you.
The owner of Maineiac Manor, Jon Mccan, said their goal is to scare as many people as possible.
It’s hard to tell from the outside, but the creators of Maniac Manor said it’s about 4,800 feet of haunted space.
“Everybody is surprised when they walk through everybody says ‘wow’ when they walk through,” said assistant manager Nick Bambrick.
Mccann said he has been working on his craft since he was a kid.
“I began with a smaller size haunted house out of my mother’s garage and a bunch of my friends helping out with that,” said Mccann.
Mccann said he caught the itch from watching horror films.
“It’s the practical effects they had in those movies that’s what I was interested in,” said Mccann. “Transitioning into a haunted house over the years I started by collecting horror props, modifying, and turning it into my creations.”
There are around 15-20 volunteer actors at a time.
He said they will not touch you, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less scary.
Maniac Manor will be up and running through Halloween weekend.
“Be prepared for everything,” Mccann said. “It’s going to be sight, sound, even smells.”
The owners will be hosting a Christmas Haunt as well.
