BANGOR — Grief is something that touches all of us. But it can be especially hard to process when you are young.
Pathfinders is a program under Northern Light Health where children and teens can get grief counseling.
The program started in February and the next session starts on April 26th.
The session is five weeks long and one hour per week every Monday from 6 p.m to 7 p.m.
“We have a littles group which is four, five, six-year-olds, middles group which is roughly seven to ten, eleven. We have a teens one group which is those pre-teen. And then a teen two group, which is the older teens. If there are young adults we can offer them a space as well,” said Misty Fitzgerald, Social Worker, and Event Coordinator at Pathfinders.
Caregivers and parents are with the children to help guide them and learn practices to take home.
