BANGOR — A Bangor doctor injected Gov. Janet Mills with her first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
On Friday morning, Dr. James Jarvis of Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center gave the governor the first of two doses of the vaccine.
According to a statement from the governor’s office, she was vaccinated as part of the first wave of vaccinations because she is a person critical to the state’s COVID-19 response. She will receive her final dose in 28 days.
It’s been exactly one month since the first person — an ICU nurse — was vaccinated.
