GOULDSBORO — The voting results are in for the future of Gouldsboro’s police department.
Town Manager Andrea Sirois said townspeople once again voted down disbanding the Gouldsboro Police Department Wednesday night.
However, she said they voted to cut the police budget by $40,000.
The proposed disbanding was fueled, at least in part, by high turnover in the department in recent years.
Sirois said people in the town of Gouldsboro also voted down giving the option for the select board to contract with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
